Animals

Welcome scientist! You are now a master of habitats and how animals adapt to their environment in order to survive. Your job is to design your own animal that could survive in the habitat you have already chosen.

Step 1:

In your science notebook; design an animal that could survive in your chosen habitat. You will draw a detailed picture to show the color, patterns, body parts, etc. that you want your animal to have. Remember everything you learned about adaptations, you will be responsible for explaining why you include every aspect of your animal.

Don't forget! This is an original animal, you are not just copying a real animal; however you may include different parts of animals in order for your new animal to survive.

Step 2:

In the maker-space, you will create your animal using any materials available. Your animal can be any size but it needs to include all aspects from your drawn sketch.

Step 3:

Level 4 extension: You may record your animal on the green screen and explain why you chose each animal adaptation. Your green screen background should show the habitat that you chose. You may also wear your animal mask from art class in order to enhance your presentation.
